Home run hitters, Babe Ruth – Why did the big hitters strike out so often? A home run hitter is less afraid of striking out than missing the opportunity for something big!

What separates success and failure for the Christian?
How do we please God?
Romans 8:8 That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
-If living by the flesh, we cannot please God; then living by the Spirit, we will please Him!

Flesh vs. Spirit (Romans 7:14-17 vs Romans 8:14-16)
How do we know where we are operating?
But what about when I ‘mess up?’ I don’t do what I want to do.

“Stop telling others why they need Jesus and tell them why I need Jesus.” Pastor David Possinger
What if a strikeout is just part of the home run?

What if we don’t have to be afraid if we fail but rather know that God can work through it?

Romans 5:20, Romans 6:1-2
God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?

The path to the cross for all!
–If I make a mistake, I am human!
–If I make a mistake,. I am not God!
–If I am not God, I am not in control!
-If I am not in control, I need a savior!
-If I need a savior, I need Jesus!
-If I admit that I need Jesus, I am a Christian!
-If I am a Christian, the the world needs to know why!

Live in victory not in fear! Romans 8:31-35

If God is for us, who can be against us?
-It’s not about how good we are.
-It’s not about how bad we are.
-It’s about whose we are!!!

It’s your turn!!!
Let’s live everyday in victory! Realizing that if we feel like we mess today up or feel like it was an amazing victory God can use it for good!
