Your past and family history do not disqualify you from being used by God. His grace can redeem your story and work through your life.
Ruth 1:19-22
Naomi “Pleasant” or “Delightful” change to Mara “Bitter”
“The Almighty has made life bitter for me.”
7 Has the Lord rejected me forever?
Will he never again be kind to me?
8 Is his unfailing love gone forever?
Have his promises permanently failed?
9 Has God forgotten to be gracious?
Has he slammed the door on his compassion? Interlude
10 And I said, “This is my fate;
the Most High has turned his hand against me.”
11 But then I recall all you have done, O Lord;
I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.
12 They are constantly in my thoughts.
I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works. -Psalm 77:7-12
Psalm 13
“If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed.
If you look within, you’ll be depressed.
If you look at God you’ll be at rest.” -Corrie ten Boom
Faith:
-Does Not Deny the Pain
-Remains Faithful When Giving Up Would be Easier
-Trusts In God With What We Cannot Yet See
Do you trust God even when your life looks like you thought it would?
Faith is not knowing what God is going to do next; Faith is trusting God enough to take the next step.
