Guest Speaker: Allen Lehman

"16 After four generations your descendants will return here to this land, for the sins of the Amorites do not yet warrant their destruction."
Genesis 15:16 (NLT)

Nations and Degrees of Degradation calls for Different Responses from God…

Justified…

…and functioning as a kingdom of priests.

  1. Obedient
  2. Responds to the prophetic voice
  3. Live lives of repentance and humility
  4. Spirit of the law is followed and temple worship flourishes
  5. Joy in the land
  6. Shalom outbreak

Exodus 19:5-6

Correctable…

…and reformable through natural means.

May not respond to the prophetic voice but responds to other dealings of God.

Examples:

  1. Pests
  2. Famine
  3. Enemies rise up
  4. Oppression

Example:  Nineveh responded to the prophetic voice.

War is the atonement price for moral failure.
Discipline; 1 Corinthians 5:5

Incorrigible…

…through natural means so God uses extreme measures.

Defeat, Subjugation, Exile

Examples:

  1. Egypt
  2. Babylon for Judah
  3. Assyria for Israel
  4. Nations subjugated by Israel via Israel’s wars.
(David sometimes operated out of demonized mode when God had not spoke to do such.)

Long Periods of GRACE

Demonized…

…culture – Satan dwells and permeates every aspect of life.

Herem-Devoted to the Lord for Destruction

Examples:

  1. The Flood
  2. Jericho minus Rehab
  3. Sodom and Gomorrah
  4. Israel conquest of Promise Land and its wars of annihilation of men, women, children, and animals
  5. Jerusalem 70 AD
  6. Blasphemy-lifetime of stiff arming Holy Spirit

2 Chronicles 36:16; “…and there was no remedy.”
