Revealing their actions
For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort. Philippians 3:3
Example: Paul
-Circumcised, Pure-blooded Israelite, Member of the tribe of Benjamin, A Pharisee, Zealous in persecuting the church, Obeyed the law without fault.
I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Philippians 3:7
What have we added?
The Council of Jerusalem
The early church separated the practices and regulations (clean and unclean) from moral issues such as sexual immorality and idolatry, which were never acceptable practices for God’s people.
Modern Day Idolatry
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Colossians 3:5
Anything that you love, treasure, prioritize, identify with, or look to for need fulfillment outside of God, can be acting as an idol in your heart and life.
Questions to Evaluate
-Do you regularly “rejoice in the Lord?”
-They say they are a Christian; “I’ll believe it when __________.”
-Do I love or treasure anything or anyone more than God?
–Do I prioritize anything or anyone before God?

For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. Galatians 5:6
